Privacy Policy
FrenWhere exists to help you find your people — not to collect data about them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the principles we will never compromise on.
Our privacy principles
- No sharing without explicit consent. Your location is never shared with anyone before you explicitly turn sharing on. Joining a group does not silently enable location sharing.
- One-tap pause. You can pause or stop sharing your location instantly, at any time, with a single tap. The app always shows clearly when sharing is active.
- Per-group control. Sharing is configured per group. You choose who sees you, and for how long (for example: one hour, until the end of the day, or until you stop it manually).
- We never sell your location data. We do not sell precise location data and we do not build precise-location advertising. Ever.
- Data minimization. We only store the data needed to make the product work, and we do not retain a movement history of where you have been by default.
What we collect
Account data (email address, display name, optional avatar), group membership data, and — only while you have sharing enabled — your current location with its accuracy and timestamp, so members of your group can find you. Blocking or leaving a group immediately revokes access to your location for the people involved.
Your rights (GDPR)
FrenWhere is designed with the EU General Data Protection Regulation in mind. You have the right to access, export, correct and delete your data. Deleting your account removes or anonymizes your data according to our documented retention policy. See Delete your data for instructions.
